Hello Land Park Families,
Do you have a daughter aged 6-12 who wants to play softball? We would like to hear from you.
Normally we would be two weeks away from our opening day and first games of the season. Instead, we find ourselves wondering whether we will be able to have a season at all this spring and, if so, what that season may look like.
The league has been working with our representatives at the Little League at the District level to ensure that, if the County gives the go ahead for team sports this spring, our league will be in position to participate. We are in the process of preparing COVID-related safety plans and protocols to implement if we are allowed to proceed with practices and games. The Board is meeting to discuss various scenarios for a season, depending on when Sacramento County opens up to safely allow youth sports.
However, regardless of what happens with the pandemic, we cannot have practices and games this spring and will not have a league at all going forward, if we do not get the support of additional volunteers. We need volunteers at all levels including board members, team managers, coaches, and umpires.
To that end, here is a link to a survey that we hope you will complete. The survey inquires into your daughters’ interest in playing softball this spring and seeks to gauge your willingness to serve as a volunteer board member, lead or assistant coach, or team parent.
